IMMEDIATELY - TEAMSNAP - Familiarize yourself with TeamSnap and it's functionality on both the mobile app & web browser. This is your central "team hub" for calendars, tracking, & team communications.

SOONER THE BETTER - TEAM MANAGER - It is HIGHLY suggested you recruit a Team Manager from your team to help with administrative tasks, many of which are listed below. The sooner you get one the easier your managerial items will be. If you do not have one you must familiarize yourself and use the Team Manager page in addition to this page. Even when you have a TM it would be good to use that page as a reference.
December 15th - WINTER TRAINING SCHEDULE should be set & communicated out.
February 28th - PRE-SEASON TRAINING SCHEDULE should be set & communicated. This is for March & April leading to getting outside.
April 1st - TOURNAMENTS - For all regular competitive teams all of your tournaments for the season should be finalized. Academy Teams should be finalized in February. For how to register & payment options refer to your Team Manager or the Team Manager page. There are also links to help find tournaments.
April 1st - REGULAR SEASON TRAINING SCHEDULE - Regular season training schedule should be generally set (days of the week you will be training)
April 1st - TCSL LEAGUE GAMES should be set & no reschedules are allowed after this date (except for cancelled games due to weather)
April 15th - TCSL GAMEDAY PROCEDURES - Make sure you and your Team Manager understand TCSL GameDay Procedures.
April 15th - PRE-SEASON PLAYER & PARENT MEETING should be completed by this date.
April 30th - LAMINATE PLAYER CARDS for tournaments, or before if needed. Check with your Team Manager or visit the Team Manager page.
TCSL home games field preparedness responsibility falls on the home team. The coach should arrive early to check lines, goals, goal anchors & netting.

Managers from both teams should get 2 or 3 dates they wish to reschedule the games to.

Share this date with our Ref assignors --The dates should be automatically notified to the Ref Assigner, but it would be a good idea to send an e-mail to: Assignors@RefAssignors.com (all changes need to be shared with RefAssignors).
Follow the steps sent out by TCSL to get the game changed with them.
As a reminder, the final step in the rescheduling process is submission of this form to the TCSL office once teams have agreed on a new date and time. Games will not be changed in GotSoccer without submitting this form. The home team should submit.

If you are coaching with Lakes United FC, there are certain expectations from us. That is, we will require you to do the following:
Attend the required, age appropriate training sessions with the ED/DOC
If you wish to coach a team U11 and under, you will be required to attend an online grassroots coach training module from United Soccer Coaches (USC) or US Soccer (USSF).
Be able to plan & prepare a training plan for each practice session (we will teach this where necessary). Follow the general format that is age appropriate (i.e.: play-train-play)
Be able to commit to 3-4 nights per week during the regular season (practices and games), 1-2 nights per week in "pre-season" training, & 1 night per week during Winter training.
Follow the club development curriculum
Provide a weekly review of your teams progress to the ED/DOC (a brief synopsis of performance) via a Google Form
Attain licensure and continued education (USSF, USC, Coaching symposiums, etc.) within 2 years of becoming a coach. Level of licensure dependent upon the level of play you wish to coach (This will be partially or full reimbursed by the club)
Provide a challenging and enjoyable soccer environment for your team
Undertake mandatory TCSL or MYSA SafeSport training (on-line)
Undertake two player evaluations per season with the DOC, Executive Director, or Gender/Age Group Director (to be used to track development and also in team formation). (Forms provided)
Provide an end of year summary to ED/DOC
Depending on level of play, you may be required to work with your team year round
Assist with tryouts for your team and teams 1 year above and below (provide feedback for ED/DOC)
Follow the Coaches Code of Conduct (see application form)
Do not let these expectations turn you off from coaching, we will provide training and support in order to help you on your journey as a soccer coach. For our continued success and development of our players we want everyone in a position where they can succeed.
