The process of coming out looks different for everyone. That said, know that GLOW Leadership–whether it’s a student leader or advisor—is more than happy to be a listening ear or support system for you. Hiding parts of yourself can take a huge emotional toll and promote isolation. Trying to build a trusted, supportive community around yourself (no matter how small it may start out) is the best way to mitigate that!

Being part of the larger LGBTQ community can be a wonderful and joyful part of your identity, so involve yourself in that. Whether it be through going to a Pride Parade, joining GLOW in the 2023-24 school year, or finding a local group near you. If you need support, there are also organizations out there to speak to, linked below.
