Events!

It's that time of the year to start getting hyped for ​ But wait... what is Week of Listening? Well, we are delighted you asked :)

Week of Listening is a week-long (wow, what a surprise) event based on Day of Silence. Its goal is to bring a sea of queer education into Lakeside for a week through engaging events!

• A fully decorated Student Center

  • Different LGBTQ staple movies will be playing for every day of the week

  • Updated snacks

  • Trinkets for your taking (i.e., pins, flags, stickers, etc.) :)

• LOTS of Posters :D

• Library Displays

• and an AMAZING dance to wrap up the week!

Our section of the assembly is to be structured as a panel where faculty volunteers who identify as part of the queer/LGBTQ+ community answer questions about Queer Education both at Lakeside and in general. 

 The GLOW in the Dark Dance (04/22) theme is ​BLACK AND WHITE MOVIE!!!!!

​But, what does this mean logistically? Wow, I forgot about your great questions! Well, while we would prefer you at least *attempt* to follow the theme, we won't boot you out if you pull up looking like a neon highlighter. On that note, this dance is neither formal nor informal: if you follow the theme, you're all set! 

Following the theme... what would that look like? What a fantastic inquiry. Thanks again for that! Well, to provide you with a simple answer: wear grey scale! If you plan to participate in our Costume Contest, then come to the dance dressed to impress in your best "old-movie-esque" attire (which is still following the grey-scale guidelines).
