What Is Scoir?

At this point, if you've been going through this website, you've probably seen Scoir referenced at least once. Scoir is cloud-based software that connects students, families, high schools, and colleges for a better admissions experience. Scoir will be your tool to connect your Lakeland documents (like transcripts and letters of recommendation) to colleges and universities, as well as do some college and career exploration (which was mentioned in the Career Exploration Information section). The majority of students' time spent on Scoir will be as a senior, but all students are encouraged to utilize it, explore, and get used to the website!

How Do I Access Scoir?

Scoir is integrated with our district single sign on program. This means that you when you get to the login screen you just need to click the "Sign-In with Google" button, and you can log in with your school account. Thankfully, there's no need to worry about your username and password! You can try logging in by clicking here to go to the Scoir website.

What Will I Use Scoir For?

Lakeland seniors will use Scoir to request Letters of Recommendation, request Transcripts, and create their Senior Brag Sheet. All other students are encouraged to utilize Scoir to curate their postsecondary searches by using YouScience and explore the different occupations, programs, majors, and schools that it suggests. The next few sections have a bit more detail on each of those things.

For those of you utilizing the CommonApp or the Coalition Application, it's important to note that these are very different from Scoir. Those sites are utilized to apply to colleges. Scoir is utilized to support your application by sending additional needed documents. To learn more about the differences between these and how to use them best together click below.

Scoir & Letters of Recommendation

As has been mentioned, students will utilize Scoir to request Letters of Recommendation from their teachers and have them sent to schools. This should never be done through an application site (like the Common App). You can learn more about how this works by visiting the Letters of Recommendation section of this website.

Scoir & Transcripts

As has been mentioned, students will utilize Scoir to request that their Transcripts get sent to schools tp which they are applying. This is made very easy through Scoir, but there's still more you should know about the process. You can learn more about how this works by visiting the Sending Transcripts/Self-Reported Grades section of this website.

Senior Brag Sheet

Part of the process for seniors as they are applying to college is to create a Senior Brag Sheet. This is a survey that is completed entirely through Scoir. It's a place for students to organize their thoughts, activities, and accomplishments. It also is utilized by your counselor and teachers to help them write a well informed Letter of Recommendation. More information about the Senior Brag Sheet can be found in the Letters of Recommendation section of this website.

PrinciplesYou

PrinciplesYou is a feature of Scoir that allows students to assess themselves and get matched up with potential careers, college majors, and institutions based on interests, skills, and experiences. There are two parts to this: the PrinciplesYou Assessment and the Career Interest Assessment. You can learn more about YouScience in the Career Exploration Information section of this website.
