Designed for students of all skill levels and interests, this dynamic program offers a comprehensive introduction to a variety of sports and physical activities that can be enjoyed throughout a lifetime.
From the serene greens of the golf course to the adrenaline-pumping action of ultimate frisbee, students will explore a diverse range of sports and recreational pursuits. Each day may feature a different sport, with hands-on guidance and coaching to help students develop fundamental skills, techniques, and strategies.
With an emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork, and lifelong physical activity, this course aims to instill a passion for health and fitness that will last a lifetime. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a total beginner, come join us for an action-packed summer of sports, friendship, and fun!
In "Lifetime Sports Experience," students will have the opportunity to:
Tee off on the golf course and practice the basics of driving, putting, and etiquette.
Pump iron and build strength in the weightlifting gym with guidance.
Serve, volley, and smash their way to victory in the fast-paced world of pickleball.
Soar through the air and make gravity-defying catches in the thrilling game of ultimate frisbee.
Dive, dodge, and score touchdowns in friendly games of flag football.

Step into the kitchens of the past and explore the tastes of history with "Cooking History!" In this course, students will embark on a culinary journey through time as they uncover the favorite meals of historical figures and replicate them with modern techniques. From the sumptuous feasts of ancient emperors to the humble fare of medieval peasants, each lesson could delve into a different era, revealing the cultural and culinary influences that shaped the world.
Students will research historical figures such as kings, queens, artists, writers, and revolutionaries, discovering their favorite dishes and the stories behind them. They will then roll up their sleeves and get cooking, using authentic recipes or modern adaptations to recreate these iconic meals. Along the way, they will learn about the ingredients, cooking methods, and dining customs of different time periods, gaining a deeper understanding of history through the senses.

Description: This class is for everyone! That’s right, you do not need to be in athletics to take advantage of this class. However, if you are an athlete, I strongly recommend that you participate in this class. There are three things to keep in mind when you take this class. 1.Be coachable. 2. Work to improve. 3. Have fun. This is a great way to socialize with your friends while working!
Objectives:
To develop fundamentally sound lifting techniques that are safe and productive.
Get stronger and faster!
Developing an understanding of why lifting weights, conditioning and stretching is a life-long skill.
Students will need their own transportation home from Weight Lifting if they do not take advantage of additional courses.

An Introduction to martial arts in general with an emphasis on karate. Students will learn basic blocks, strikes and combinations and a variety of escapes. Students will also be able to earn white belt through the Green Flame Karate System.
Objective: Students will learn stretching, three basic blocks (high, medium, low), three basic strikes(sun punch, palm strike, backfist) and three basic kicks(front, side and back). Basic combinations of these moves will also be taught in Kata. In addition, escapes from common grabs and choke holds will also be covered.

Description: Babysitting Certification is offered online through the Red Cross for ages 11 and up. Topics include how to provide care for infants and children; how to stay safe; what to do in an emergency; how to choose age-appropriate activities; and how to recognize and handle a variety of behaviors.
Objectives: Students will be provided instruction on child care, home safety, behavior management, and daily living. Students ages 11 and up will earn the Red Cross Babysitting Certification.
Grade Level: 9th - 12th
High School students in need of credit recovery can enroll in math, science, social studies, or English. Students must sign up and commit to attending every session (12 days) June 12-29 or until they have completed their coursework. To successfully complete credit recovery, students must complete all required work with satisfactory performance. High School teachers will assist you to help you make up the credit of your choosing.
Basketball Camp

This week will focus on improving ball handling. Players will leave camp strong with the ball and be able to finish around the rim. A lot of opportunities for competitive play.
Objectives: Learn the game of basketball and have fun. Grow character traits of sportsmanship, respect, and resilience.
Students will need their own transportation from Basketball Camp.

Rock Band Jam Sessions:
Grade Level: 6th - 8th
Teachers: Ms. Ische
Dates: June 11th, June 18th & June 25th
Time: 6 pm - 8 pm
Band members will spend Friday morning jam session rehearsing and practicing. Students attending the Shell Lake Arts Center this summer camp are encouraged to attend the jam sessions. No prior experience in band is required.
Objective: To play some awesome music in a ROCK BAND!
Students will need their own transportation from Rock Band Jam.
