Invasive species are fast growing organisms that impact the environment, economy, and even human health in some situations.  These non-native species often lack a natural predator.  As a result they force native species out and often become abundant nuisances.

Lake Bonaparte Conservation Club has invested heavily in the control of Eurasian Watermilfoil using biological controls.  The lake is also impacted by the presence of Zebra Mussel, Phragmites, and Starry Stonewort.  Often eradication of invasives is virtually impossible thus it is important to remain vigilant about preventing their introduction.

Lake Bonaparte lies within 10 miles of the Adirondack Park, and thus boats entering and leaving the lake must comply with NY Clean, Drain, Dry regulations and complete a certification process.
