THE SCHOOL BOARD ADOPTED OPTION 6A ON AUG. 10, 2020, AND IT WILL BECOME EFFECTIVE WITH THE START OF SCHOOL IN AUGUST 2021
The adoption of the boundary changes for the Four Corners and Aurelia Cole Academy K-8 schools is scheduled for tentative approval on June 22 and final approval on Aug. 10.
On June 8, the School Board approved an attendance boundary adjustment for two areas that are under development and have the potential to have students move in during the 2020-21 school year. The first of the two areas is the northern part of the Hills of Minneola development, north of the Florida Turnpike and south of County Road 561A, proposed to be rezoned from Astatula Elementary to Minneola Charter Elementary. The second area is the undeveloped portion of the Wellness Way Sector Area Plan south of Hartwood Marsh Road, proposed to be rezoned from Lost Lake Elementary to Sawgrass Bay Elementary.
There are no currently enrolled students residing in these areas to be affected by the redistricting. These changes are consistent with the future changes for 2021-22 as proposed in Option 6A as previously discussed with the Board.
