Class Computer Programming:

This course provides the beginning programmer with a guide to developing applications using the Java programming language. Java is popular among professional programmers because it can be used to build visually interesting graphical user interface (GUI) and Web-based applications. Java also provides an excellent environment for the beginning programmer—a student can quickly build useful programs while learning the basics of structured and object-oriented programming techniques.

Grading Policy:

Grades are eligible for a retest with agreements between the student and the teacher. Automatic zeros are given to anyone caught cheating or work that was never made up. These grades are not eligible for retest. All makeup and retests must be done during tutoring before school. In the event that a student is absent and misses class work, he/she is responsible for asking for makeup work. Time given for makeup work will be equivalent to the amount of absences.

Conference & Tutoring

Conference: 4th period

Tutoring time: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 a.m. or upon request.

Internet Use:

The required internet form should have been signed and returned during registration. Students must have teacher permission to use the internet.


Class Rules:

  1. Follow directions at all times.

  2. Respect others and their property.

  3. No Bullying of any kind.

  4. No food or drinks at workstations.

  5. The use of electronic devices without permission is prohibited.

  6. Do not leave the classroom without permission.

Consequences:

  1. Warning Sign-Log

  2. Last One Out Of Class Room

  3. Above + Valued Time

  4. Above + Parent Call (F.R.O. P.I.C.)

  5. Above + Administrator Referral

Cell phone policy:

Students’ cell phones must remain off at all times while in the classroom. If your phone rings, beeps, etc. in class, it will be picked up. Cell phones must be kept out of view or it will be confiscated and consequences will follow as stated in Student Handbook. Do not keep your cell phone in your pocket in this class or it will be confiscated. Cell phone will be turned in to the front office and parent must come in to pick it up. This is your warning!

Electronic devices

Electronic devices, such as radios, I-pods, mp3 players, CD players, camcorders, DVD players, cameras, games, laptops, etc., are strictly prohibited in the classroom. All electronic devices will be confiscated and will be turned in to the office. Parent will have to come in to pick up confiscated items.

Daily attendance is extremely important! If you are absent, you must bring a blue admittance slip as soon as you return to my class after your absence.

You may be exempt from the semester exam if you meet all of the following:

  • Maintain an 80 semester average in the class

  • Have not been assigned to ISS during the semester

  • Have no more than three absences in the class

Tardiness will be recorded by the classroom teacher. Students are expected to be in their seat by the tardy bell. Be prompt to class!
