Learning Goals:

  • My child knows the name of at least 20 uppercase letters.

  • My child knows at least 20 letter sounds

Directions:

  • Point to each letter and ask your child the name and sound.

  • If your child says the name correctly underline the letter

  • If your child says the correct sound(s), circle the letter

  • If a letter makes more than one sound, please indicate which sound your child said

Learning Goal:

  • When given a word, my child can name a word that rhymes

Directions:

  • Tell your child all the picture names: bee, frog, snail, up, tail, tree, dog, cup

  • Ask your child which rhymes with bee, draw the line for them to connect the picture they say. If they correct themselves later, you may erase and re connect what they say

  • You may encourage your child to say the words aloud, but please do not lead them to the answer

  • say each word on the bottom and ask your child to state a word that rhymes. Write down exactly what they say

  • My child can retell a story with proper sequence

Directions:

  • Watch the story of the Little Red Hen

  • Ask your child what happened in the story, then what? Then What? How did it end?

  • Help cut out the bottom cards on the sheet (cutting is not part of the assessment, feel free to help)

  • Ask your child to glue or tape them in order and tell you what is happening

Directions:

Please send me a picture of your child's pencil grip while they are writing or coloring.

Directions:

Ask your child to start at 1 and begin counting. Let me know how high they can count. If you can, send me a video.

  • Alternative option - ask your child to point out the number 6, and continue until you have gone through each number

  • It is important not to lead your child to the answers
