This project is great to help with your fine motor skills of cutting, gluing and writing your name!
The materials you'll need are:
Scissors
Glue
Construction Paper
Pencil
First begin by writing your name BIG on a piece of construction paper or even cardboard!
Next have a grown up, or yourself if you're confident, cut your colored paper into long strips, about one inch wide.
Once your strips are cut, cut those into small squares with one straight cut. You should have a bunch of little squares now!
Now, use your glue like a pencil and trace or draw along a small part of your name. Once you have the glue down you can start to place your squares on top!
For a little extra difficulty try to fill in the whole background with one color you didn't use in your name. You'll create something called "EMPHASIS" (which is an element of art) Emphasis means that something stands out in the artwork, the thing standing out is your name!
Photograph your work of art and send it to me! You can do so to my Facebook page, my Instagram, or my email. I can't wait to see what you create!
