Deanna Bayerl

Head Coach

Deanna Bayerl is a graduate of UW-La Crosse with her degree and certification in Mathematics Education (Early Adolescence to Adolescence) and is currently a substitute teacher in the coulee region.  She has marched color guard with River City Rhythm Drum and Bugle Corp (Anoka, MN) from 2021-2022, the UW-La Crosse Screaming Eagles Marching Band from 2019-2021, and the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Marching Band in 2018.

Deanna has instructed and choreographed with The La Crosse Stars since the spring of 2021, directed the West Salem Middle School Color Guard (2022), and has worked with the Onalaska High School Color Guard as needed since 2020.

Ella Olson

Varsity Tech

Ella is a current student at UW-Eau Claire persuing a major in Business Administration with a certificate in Arts Administration. She has prior experience marching with Irondale High School, The UW-Eau Claire Blugold Marching Band and the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corp (Madison, WI). Along with that, she has also had the opportunity to create and direct a new winter guard organization at UW-Eau Claire. Ella is beyond excited to continue growing as an instructor and start her journey with The La Crosse Stars Winter Guard.  

Jason Harden

Jason Harden is the band director with the School District of La Crosse. His experiences with the marching arts has included performing with Suncoast Sound, Magic of Orlando, the UCF Marching Knights, as well as teaching various marching bands and drums corps over the years.  

Jason Harden serves as a volunteer for the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corp (La Crosse, WI) and is currently serving on the board of directors for the River City Rhythm Drum and Bugle Corps (Anoka, MN) and as a member-at-large for the North Star Circuit.
