Who are The La Crosse Stars?
The La Crosse Stars are a School District of La Crosse winter color guard organization consisting of performers from La Crosse and surrounding communities. Currently membership ranges from elementary through middle school. The La Crosse Stars team dances with flags, rifles, and props to perform locally in the Coulee Region and North Star Circuit Competitions.

"Daddy, I want to be in a color guard!"
That is what my 5th-grade daughter said to me while attending a Drum Corps International performance in the summer of 2017. She was especially impressed by the Blue Stars color guard. Having marched drum corps myself as a brass player, I was excited to learn of her interest. I realized that for her to have a chance to join such a talented group, she would need experience and years of color guard training. That little statement from her is what I consider to be the genesis of The La Crosse Stars.
