Choir
Mr. Schultz joined the district in 2018 and has been lucky to be the choir director at Central since 2020. During his time at Central the choirs and show choir have won numerous awards and have been invited to sing at choral festivals.
Mr. Schultz oversees the choral program and directs the three curricular choirs as well as the show choir. Beyond the choirs, he gives voice lessons to each student in the choir program. Mr. Schultz also serves as the auditorium manager and the arts department chair.
Outside of school, Mr. Schultz is the Director of Music at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Winona, MN and is a sought after accompanist and vocal/pit director for musicals.
In his downtime, Mr. Schultz enjoys spending time with his wife, Madeline, and son, Franklin, as well as golfing and road tripping to the cabin in Alexandria.

Band
Mr. Beron has been teaching band at Central since 2021 where he directs the Wind Ensemble, Jazz I, and Jazz II. Bands under his direction have received consistent praise from clinicians and adjudicators, and have been recognized by state organizations for their outstanding musicianship.
Mr. Beron is an active musician in the area performing regularly with the La Crosse Wind Symphony, La Crosse Jazz Orchestra, Blue Bridge Brass, Grumpy Old Men, and the La Crosse Community Theatre. When he is not teaching or performing, he enjoys spending time outdoors camping and traveling the country.

Orchestra & Modern Band
Zach Mayer currently teaches orchestra and modern band at Central High School where he has taught since 2022. As the orchestra teacher, Mr. Mayer is responsible for teaching two orchestras, providing weekly lessons to his students, and coordinating numerous public performances each school year.
During Mr. Mayer's time at Central, the orchestras have received numerous accolades and honors including an invitation to perform at the first annual Luther College Orchestra Invitational in October of 2025.
Beyond the walls of Central, Mr. Mayer is active as a conductor working with the La Crosse Area Youth Symphony Orchestras (LYSO) as the director of the Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a performer, Mr. Mayer is an in-demand bassist who performs with a wide variety of ensembles in the La Crosse area. He holds a section double bass position with the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra. Beyond his orchestral commitments, Mr. Mayer regularly performs with a variety of other bands and groups.

Band
A native of central Florida, Mr. Harden was employed at Walt Disney World for 14 years, working as a student musician, a guest talent coordinator with Disney Performing Arts, and hosting visiting celebrities, musicians, and astronauts as Walt Disney World Guest Relations cast member.
Following Disney, Mr. Harden taught band at Haines City High School and then Daniel Jenkins Academy, both in Haines City, Florida. After moving to La Crosse, WI in 2008, Mr. Harden taught band at Lincoln Middle School until the school closed in 2023. Following that he and his family moved to Windsor, England where he was the Head of Music at The Langley Academy. Returning to La Crosse in 2024, Mr. Harden is currently a band director at Central High School in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He rehearses the Holiday Brass, the Symphonic Band, and the Marching Band. Jason is also the founder and director of The La Crosse Stars, a School District of La Crosse winter guard organization.
Mr. Harden holds a Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.E.) from the University of Central Florida in Orlando and a Master of Education from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. Mr. Harden’s professional memberships include the American School Band Directors Association, the National Band Association, and the Wisconsin Concert Band Association.
Mr. Harden lives in La Crosse with his wife Carrie Wuensch-Harden. Together they have two wonderful daughters, Isabel and Zoey, as well as a miniature schnauzer named Shadow.
