Want to advocate for positive changes, and earn some recognition for using your voice?
Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Events are Competitive Events in which members compete at the region/district, state, and national level. STAR Events allow students to compete individually or as a team. There are more than 30 STAR Events students can choose to compete in, all which recognize participants who demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and abilities to actively identify an issue concerning families, careers, or communities, research the topic, and develop and implement a project to advocate for positive change.
Each (non-COVID) year the regional competition is held at WTC's campus. If you score well here, your project will advance to the state competition, which is a three day conference at the Kalahari Resort in WI Dells. From there you have the chance to qualify for nationals! This is a conference held in the summer in places like San Antonio, Texas, Anaheim, California, Nashville, Tennessee and more!
No! As a chapter, LHS FCCLA will participate in a number of activities for community service and school events that allow you to belong to the organization without the need to take it to a competitive level.
