The mission of College Track is to equip students confronting systemic barriers to earn a bachelor’s degree in pursuit of a life of opportunity, choice, and power. Watts Rising is a collaborative of Watts residents, 40+ organizations, the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles, the Mayor's Office, and Council District 15 committed to improving the quality of life in Watts. In 2019, the Watts Rising Collaborative was awarded a $33.25 million Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Grant from the California's Strategic Growth Council (SGC), and additionally leveraged over $160 million to fund community- identified infrastructure projects. With continued, vibrant community input, leadership and participation, the Watts Rising Collaborative will implement 24 infrastructure projects by 2024 that will: 1) expand urban agriculture and access to healthy
organic produce; 2) provide more affordable and sustainable housing; 3) increase low- and no- carbon transportation options; 4) increase community green space; 5) expand our tree canopy; and 6) make our streets safer for walking and biking.

Job Corps is 100% Fully Funded through the Department of Labor and there is absolutely no cost to the student, before, during and after the program! The DOL spends $40,000.00 on each student to make sure they have all they need to be successful in their career path.
The population that Job Corps serves are the low-income youth (16-24), victims of sex-trafficking, foster youth, migrant youth and kids with disabilities.
The careers that they train in are High-Demand Industries- Advanced Manufacturing, Hospitality, Healthcare, Information Technology, Construction, Renewable Resources and Energy, Finance and Business, Transportation and Homeland Security.
The average program length is approx. 10 months, however if they make it into the Advanced Training Program the length of time at Job Corps can be up to 2 years, or a little longer (due to post Covid).
Job Corps provides all that they need while being a student here at the Center: Food, clothing, equipment and uniforms to do the trade, books and supplies, a small stipend so that they can a little pocket money, basic medical, dental and mental needs, chrome books and internet access if needed, transportation and housing if needed and available.
Upon completion of the program: Each person receives $1,000.00 to help them to settle into their new lives for housing or a down payment towards a car.
Job Corps has a zero tolerance for drug use, each potential student will submit to a drug test.
