Welcome to the 20th International Symposium on Primatology and Wildlife Sciences. We are pleased to announce that our event is taking place in Kyoto, Japan from Monday, November 17th to Tuesday, November 18th, 2025!
Join us for this year’s symposium, which is themed “Beyond Boundaries: Cross-disciplinary Visions for Conservation and Discovery” This is organized by students from the PWS leading graduate program at the Wildlife Research Center (WRC), Kyoto University, and the Center for the Evolutionary Origins of Human Behavior (EHUB), Kyoto University. This symposium is partly supported by the JSPS Core-to-Core Program: Asia-Africa Science Platforms (#JPJSCCB20250006) and Research Units for Exploring Future Horizons: Coevolution and Coexistence, and the Joint Research Program of Wildlife Research Center, Kyoto University.
We welcome researchers from diverse fields such as Ecology, Behavior, Cognition, Genetics, Physiology, Conservation, and more studies on any animal taxa, to apply for a poster or oral presentation and share their insights with our global audience. If you have case studies, experiments, preliminary results, or scientific reviews relevant to this year’s theme, this is your opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with fellow researchers.
In recent years, advances in animal research have increasingly relied on collaborations and fresh perspectives that transcend traditional disciplines. Under the theme “Beyond Boundaries” across different species and fields, we are planning a workshop that will bring together outstanding researchers from Japan and abroad, who pursue unique studies on diverse disciplines related to wildlife science. Our goal is to provide participants with interdisciplinary viewpoints and encourage new collaborations, all aimed at contributing to the future of animal research. Several wildlife research experts have been invited to give keynote presentations, and following this we will host an additional event at the Kyoto City Zoo! Here, the same researchers will give additional short presentations. For more details click here!
Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the PWS Symposium. Whether you’re presenting your own research or participating in lively discussions, your contributions will greatly enrich the dialogue at this international gathering.
We look forward to seeing many of you there. See you soon!
