Class of 2017
Senior at Allegheny College majoring in mathematics.
"Honestly, I think IB was the best thing I have done academically. IB helped me in three ways. First, the 2 year of economics helped me realize my passion for the subject (and my undergrad major). Second, IB made college so much easier. I was a much better writer and overall learner than my peers entering college. I basically had two years of college experience as a freshman. Finally, it gave me an international perspective. I became more sensitive and open to different ideas, values and cultures. A lot has happened since, but I think IB planted the seed in my mind to pursue foreign relations. It really sparked a passion for me that I did not fully realize until last year. I don’t think I would be pursuing a career in international relations if not for my experience in IB."

Some people believe that IB is geared towards the humanities and that there is 'not enough math and science' in the program. These four graduates bely that belief. All have been very successful in math and science oriented studies.
At least two of our IB graduates are currently in medical school, several are in law school, a number are in graduate school in various fields. At least two are working as nurses in the area, and more are starting their careers in a variety of areas. The bulk of them are still undergraduate students at universities across the US.
We couldn't be more proud of them.
