Abilities Unlimited Program Recognized at National Conference
Kaskaskia Special Education District 801 was pleased to be honored at the recent American Council for Rural Special Education conference with the 2025 Exemplary Rural Special Education Award for Vocational Training and Transition.
While at the national conference, team members also had the opportunity to present on key topics in the field, including Executive Functioning, RtI and Transition Planning Committees.

Disability Support Services at KC
The Disability Support Services Office provides services and accommodations for students with documented disabilities, which can include learning, physical, visual, or emotional disabilities. The services are designed to make educational opportunities at KC equally accessible to all students enrolled in college credit classes.
Students are responsible for identifying themselves as needing disability support services, for providing appropriate documentation, and for requesting accommodations through the DSS office.

KSED 801 is a special education cooperative, with central offices located in Centralia, IL.
KSED partners with its thirty member school districts within the Clinton, Marion, and Washington Counties. KSED strives to provide integral special education services, support, and leadership to our member districts and the needs of the students within their districts.

Kaskaskia Special Education District administrative team at the newly renovated Irving School building. The new site opened in the Fall of 2024 and houses the Bridges Learning Center (BLC) program, spaces for professional development/training and itinerant staff.
