My family....
My family is my number one priority and as one of my students you have become an extension of that family. This is what motivates me to teach, there is nothing better than helping someone you care about find their way.
I began my college education at Maple Woods. I enjoyed my time there and after receiving my associates degree in education I transferred to UMKC's School of Education. After graduating with my bachelors degree in Secondary English Education I student taught in the Hickman Mills school district at Ruskin High School. Ruskin afforded me a lot of opportunities and I really enjoyed my time there, however my goal was to teach in the Kearney School District. Kearney is home, and where my kids go to school. Becoming a part of our community has been a blessing.
I am currently perusing a masters degree in Educational Technology though the University of Central Missouri.
This year I am teaching a variety of English classes all focused on the three pillars of communication: speaking, listening and writing. Classes will take place online and in person.

What I went through in know way limits my physical activity, but it does put me in the high risk category in regards to Covid-19. As one of my students I ask that you follow the required procedures for returning to school and practice safety and caution at all times.
In regards to hobbies, I enjoy sports. I'm a huge Chiefs and Royals fan. I'm also a fan of the Kansas Jayhawks. My favorite sport to participate in is basketball. With that being said I've been given the opportunity to coach 9th grade boys basketball this year. I also enjoy time with family and friends and being outside or at the lake. During the school year enjoy seeing students compete, perform, and all the activities and opportunities that come with being a teacher. School activities may be limited this year, but our opportunities will not...
