Health Science careers support the health and wellness of individuals and communities. Through hands-on learning in areas like medical terminology and sports medicine, students build a foundation for careers in healthcare, nursing, therapy, and medical support services.
This class is designed for students interested in exploring health-related careers. Students will learn about the Greek and Latin-based language of medicine and healthcare. There are focuses in anatomical terms, medical prefixes, root words, suffixes, basic anatomy, and conditions/diseases for each body system.

Dual Credit Program
Students will combine course work with hands-on activities in the anatomy and physiology of sports injuries, taping/wrapping sports injuries, first aid and emergency care, rehabilitation of injuries, sports nutrition, and the psychology of sports.

This class is designed to teach students about the varied careers in health sciences. The concentrations in this class are nursing, medicine, physical therapy, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, diagnostic imaging, and many others. Students will also be trained in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and use of automatic external defibrillators (AED).
