Step 1: Make an appointment, complete necessary forms and required documentation. Links to these forms will be provided by your advocate.
· Civil marriage certificate of the marriage to be annulled
· Divorce decree of the marriage to be annulled
· Baptismal certificates for both parties
· Self-testimony of petitioner (example)
· Petition for a Decree of Nullity (omitting the section entitled grounds)
· Expense Statement (St Ann Parish will undertake the expenses incurred for annulments)
Step 2: Submit required documentation to the Tribunal.
Step 3: After documentation has been submitted to the tribunal await further communication.
This will depend upon obtaining testimony from respondent and other witnesses. There is no definite time estimate in processing these cases. There is also no assurance of a favorable decision. Some are not favorable. If Salt Lake City Tribunal grants a favorable decision, the case must be submitted to the Court of Second Instance, Tribunal of Oakland, California. (It may take at least six months from the date of the acceptance of the petition.)
