The No Outsiders programme promotes an ethos of inclusion and acceptance and aims to prepare children for life in modern Britain. This scheme of work is designed to meet the requirements of The Equality Act of 2010; it also strongly supports the teaching of British Values. The scheme is based around reading and discussing books that cover different issues relating to inclusion and it tries to 'develop responsible, respectful and active citizens' (Ofsted Guidance 2019). Some of the books covered in Year 6 are:

Recognise when someone is choking; administer first aid to a casualty that is choking; and seek medical help if required for a choking casualty.
Conduct a primary survey; place a casualty who is unresponsive and breathing normally into the recovery position; and identify when it is necessary for CPR to be given.
