Innovation in Pedagogy/Assessment/Teaching
The various innovation practices has adopted in my teaching Professional. Some of them are real time assignment, mini projects and Own Case study discussion. The stock game was also developed to enrich the knowledge to learn financial markets among student community.
1. Real Time Assignment and Mini Projects
Subject Name : Financial Derivatives
1. Students are expected to identify any brokerage firms dealing in derivative segment
a) Identify the various derivative products (10 marks)
b) How each derivative product is differing? (10 marks)
c) Write evaluation and growth of those products (5 marks)
Total: 25 marks
2. Students are expected to prepare a report based on future on options script traded (F&O) in stock exchange
a) Watch the behavior or sentiment of F&O segment and write the price changes for 15 days (10 marks)
b) How the investor will use hedging techniques for trade-off? (5 marks)
c) Find out the return in F&O segment and cash segment (10 marks)

Subject Name: Security Analysis and Portfolio Management
1. Students are expected to identify any two Indian corporate (preferably involved in manufacturing / service sector). Listed in NSE / BSE. Students should carry out fundamental analysis of the selected stocks based on the following criteria.
Evaluation Pattern: (20 marks)
a) Economic Analysis (5 marks)
b) Industry Analysis (5 marks)
c) Company Analysis (5 marks)
d) Report Submission (5 marks)
2. Students are expected to identify any two corporate (preferably involved in manufacturing / service sectors) listed in NSE / BSE stock exchange. Students should carry out technical analysis of the selected stock based on the following criteria: (10 hrs)
Evaluation Pattern:
Ø Moving average method (5 marks)
Ø Relative strength index (5 marks)
Ø Charting pattern (5 marks)
Ø Report submission (5 marks)
3. Students are expected to involved in virtual and real time trading based on the following criteria: (10 hrs)
Evaluation Pattern: (10 marks)
a) Selection of the stocks based on existence of the company (2.5 marks)
b) Portfolio selection and diversification (2.5 marks)
c) Risk and return of the stocks (2.5 marks)
d) Return earned from the trading (2.5 marks)
Subject Name: Corporate Strategy
1. Prepare a Business plan for your Start up Venture (Including Vision, mission, objectives and other strategic analysis.
2. Conduct a SWOT analysis for one service and one manufacturing company.
3. Apply the Michael Porter competitive model to an Industry (Retail, FMCG, Infrastructure, Banking, Telecom and IT).

Stock Game through Offline Mode
Statement of Innovation
Stock market is an activity providing high value experience learning. Nobody dares to loose big money by making a simple mistake. This stock game in classroom makes the younger mind to learn the game of play and takes out the fear of investing.
Making cash without spending any money is a good deal. Learning investment without a penny is the best deal. (Students starts in “fun mode”). Players have access to real time stock updates through offline mode and can work out with their basic investment of Rs. that can be used on stocks, bonds, options, futures and Mutual funds and many more. They learn teamwork and decision making skills. The game lets the student to tailor the graphs showing a stock’s history over a period of time and allows them to visualize the ROI.
This way of knowledge creation and innovative teaching methodology helps students expand their knowledge and gain new skills in investing, saving, communication, cooperation, research and decision making skills
Method : Stock Game through Offline Mode
Objectives :
i. To make the students to acquire the knowledge in the field of Capital Market.
ii. To create interest in real time trading.
Motivation :
Stock market allows students a valuable and enjoyable opportunity to learn all about the process of making good investment decisions and gives a good foundation for sound financial decisions.
Benefits :
The game will provide the experiential learning on economical and financial concepts. This method of stock game also provides the students to learn about investments and portfolio strategies effectively. Students are also able to carry out their own research at a comfortable level as teacher customizes classroom lessons.
Outcome :
i. Expand awareness and knowledge in Investment planning.
ii. Gain skills in buying and selling of shares and thereby make optimal investment portfolio.
iii. Invoke the habit of collecting, understanding and Interpreting stock listing in different platforms.
iv. Gain deeper insight into various companies investment portfolio’s and forecast the future share trends on longitudinal basis.
v. Inculcates the habit of reading business newspaper on regular basis.

Based on share price quoted in Business line and Economic Times Newspapers.

Objectives:

The rules of the Game are,
1. Any Student may participate in this game
2. The maximum amount allowed for holding the shares is Rs.50,000.
3. Hold Maximum 2 Companies’ Shares at a time.
4. N+2 trading system is followed for selling.
5. Yesterday’s Closing Price (Price as quoted on the particular day’s Newspaper) is treated as trading price for buying and selling.
6. Only the shares of Nifty and Junior Nifty (NIFTY NEXT 50 )are allowed for trading of buying and selling.
