US History 9

This isn't your parents History Class

The US has a very storied history. While we all may know the basic facts of our nation, there are often may underlining stories people do not know about. US history is well documented, but how much of the truth is being told? In this course, I want to tell those truths more, while looking at how our past is impacting our world today.

History is cyclical. The past repeats itself, we must learn from the mistakes to move forward

My classes do not just focus on dates, and people. I like the story behind our hiSTORY. We have been in an age where the wealth of human knowledge is at our fingertips. With a few swipes, and and touches, US history can be displayed on our phones. There is no need for a teacher who is going to "lecture" for an entire class period (don't under-estimate me, I can and I have spoken for 2 hours before).

Instead, I like to have discussions, hear what my learners are thinking, and seeing how they connect their lives to history. Let's debunk the myths and fake stories. Let's look at the truths, good and/or bad, and learn what makes our nation what it is, and what it can be.
