Variable Shipping enabled you to calculate shipping rates based on order location and/or order weight.
To set this up, a shipping matrix will need to be provided for us to upload for your store.
Outlined below are the two distinct shipping matrix configurations for you to choose from. If you would like to use a combination of both, the calculation will default to the most expensive rate of the two.
OPTION ONE: "PER KILO CHARGE" MATRIX
The "Per Kilo Charge" matrix requires you to define a charge per kilogram for each delivery zone.Â
The above template is based on zones defined by Australia Post, and may be altered by editing the 'Postcodes' field. Please ensure that each postcode is only listed against one zone.
PLEASE NOTE: Only postcodes that are included in the matrix will be considered deliverable for your store.
You will then need to provide the following information for each zone:
Minimum Charge: This is the cost a customer would pay for the lightest possible order (can be left blank).
Base Charge: This is a fixed fee that is added to the shipping cost, regardless of the order's weight.
Per Kilo Charge: This is the variable component of the shipping cost, which is multiplied by the weight of the order.
Total Shipping = Base Charge + (Per Kilo Charge x Weight)
If Total Shipping is less than Minimum Charge, the Minimum Charge will apply.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE: To ensure that shipping is calculated correctly for all orders, accurate weights will need to be provided for each SKU. This can be completed through your API connection, or can be added as a 'WEIGHT' field within your product feed. Weights should be provided in Kilograms.
OPTION TWO: "WEIGHT RANGE" MATRIX
The "Weight Range" matrix required you to define a fixed charge for certain weight intervals for each delivery zone.
Once again, the above template is based on zones defined by Australia Post, and may be altered by editing the 'Postcodes' field.
In this example, customers in Zone N0 are charged $4.99 for orders weighing between 0Kg (inclusive) and 5Kg (exclusive).
The 'Zone Code' and 'Postcodes' fields will need to be identical for all ranges within the same zone.
PLEASE NOTE: To ensure that shipping is calculated correctly for all orders, accurate weights will need to be provided for each SKU. This can be completed through your API connection, or can be added as a 'WEIGHT' field within your product feed. Weights should be provided in Kilograms.
VARIABLE SHIPPING FOR NEW ZEALAND ORDERS
To set up Variable Shipping for your New Zealand orders, you will need to modify one of the above matrix templates to instead include NZ postcodes and zones.
This should be completed using the following steps:
STEP ONE: Source the relevant NZ postcodes that you are willing and able to ship to, and group them into zones based on shipping rates.
STEP TWO: Provide us with a list of zones (you may name them however you want), and the rates for each zone
STEP THREE: Provide us with a separate list of the individual postcodes for each zone
We will then generate a shipping matrix file to be uploaded for your store.
