Tom originates from the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Canada and grew up in a small town called Elkford. He developed a love for all things outdoors, but it was a love of baseball that brought him to the United States where he played for 4 years at Valley City State University. If his love of baseball brought him here, it is the love for his wife Linda that keeps him here. After a few questionable career choices, Tom entered into education where his passion for the profession was ignited. As he journeys into his 16th year of education, he realizes that if we want our learners to change the world then it is our moral duty to adapt the system to make that desire a reality. It is this realization that drives him to explore opportunities that exist outside the traditional walls of school. Like most educators he has plenty of spare time and spends this time with his wife on their small farmstead in Gardner, ND enjoying the horses and other furry creatures roaming the property.
Erin Lacina is the Director of Professional Learning and Operations for the Northeast Education Services Cooperative (NESC).
