This 2026-2027 application is COMING SOON!! Your parents must help with this and have their prior prior year's taxes available.
Submit your completed FAFSA to all colleges you are interested in even if you haven't finished the applications for them.
Your FAFSA will calculate a SAI (Student Aid Index between 1500 - 999999).
Even if you don't think you will qualify for any aid, fill out the FAFSA anyway!
Men must be registered with the Selective Service to qualify for federal aid. Register online now!
College can be expensive if you are living on campus, usually about half of the total cost is a dorm room, food, and campus fees.
You will automatically qualify for $5,500 in Federal Loans your freshmen year. You are obligated to pay these back even if you don't finish.
Your FAFSA information will determine if you qualify for grants (need-based aid).
Your grades, test scores, and community/school involvement typically qualify you for scholarships.
Check out your college's net price calculator to estimate how much college will cost for you - Net Price Calculator Search
Your best source for scholarship money will be the college itself. Apply for any you may qualify for, but some are automatically offered.
There are local scholarship opportunities that will be posted here as they are received by the school.
There are also online search engines for regional and national scholarships. Some of these are not worth the time, but there are a few good ones. Create a separate email account just for these sites, you'll get LOTS of emails about scholarships, and you don't want to clog your regular email account! Some sites are linked below.
Research more about paying for college and calculating your loan payment at: Federal Student Aid, Finaid.org
Consider a regional campus or community college as a place to start before transferring to a main campus to save money.
