College credit plus (CCp)

What Is College Credit Plus?

Starting in the 7th grade, qualified students can take courses taught through colleges and universities that will be paid for by the public school they attend. Courses may be taught by a high school teacher serving as an adjunct college teacher, in the high school taught by a visiting college instructor, online, or on-campus.

WHAT DO I DO IF I'M INTERESTED IN CCP CLASSES FOR 2024-2025?

1.Attend the CCP Informational Meeting on October 23, 2024 If you missed the meeting or want a refresher, review the General CCP Information Presentation FIRST, then review specific college information.

2. Review the Annual Notice posted below.

2.Return a signed Intent to Participate Form to Mrs. Conant by April 1, 2025 (can be printed or picked up in the counseling office).

3.Apply to the college (presentations from MTC , NC State, and OSU are below).

4.Take a college placement test, if required by the college.

5.Complete a counseling session and COUNSELING FORM with Mrs. Conant prior to registering for classes (can be printed or picked up in the counseling office).

6.Register for classes (Mrs. Conant will register you for MTC classes taught at Northmor).

UPCOMING CCP EVENTS

November 18, 2024 - CCP Info Night at 6:30 PM in the NHS Library

March 25, 2025 - MTC App Day (apply to MTC with the help of our MTC Advisor)

TBD - ACCUPLACER Day (the ACCUPLACER test will administered to those students who need it to qualify for admission or a specific course, like English or Math)

Test scores from the ACT, SAT, or ACCUPLACER may be required for course placement.

To Qualify for CCP You Must:

Complete the Intent to Participate Form and return no later than April 1, 2025

Have a college-ready score (for certain classes) on one of the placement test options listed above

Have a 3.0 GPA (or pass the college-ready test, if you are below a 3.0)

Have a CCP counseling meeting with Mrs. Conant prior to scheduling classes
