First find a book on your topic. Look at the index to learn terms that will help you in your search.
Use the library catalog Follett Destiny - Webpath Express that gives you educational (.gov, .edu) URLs without ads.
Check online encyclopedia like (Britannica School - High School)
Check other school databases (see links above). **Boolean search with words - and, not, or. Filter search results to narrow down.
Last, do a web search, but check the URL for quality, Author (credentials - do a quick Google search to see if the author is legitimate),, Currency (date), Bias (fact vs opinion), Accuracy/Validate (consider source). Read up on the source before you trust the information. Check Snopes to see if the story has been reported as false.
Trace image sources aby doing a reverse search. TinEye and Google Images can both reverse image search to find out exact image source.
**BOOLEAN LOGIC is a way to narrow search results. Use "OR," "AND," or "NOT"--for more information go to UW Whitewater's library tutorial page.
