Despite its large land area, the population density is extremely low, with an average of around 2 people per square kilometer.
Life expectancy in Mongolia has been steadily increasing over the years. As of the latest data, the average life expectancy is around 70 years. This improvement can be attributed to better healthcare services, improved living conditions, and increased access to medical facilities.
Mongolia is ethnically homogenous, with the majority of the population belonging to the Mongol ethnic group. The Khalkha Mongols make up about 85% of the population. There are also several minority groups, including Kazakhs, who constitute around 3.9% of the population, as well as smaller groups like the Tuvans, Buryats, and others, primarily residing in specific regions of the country.
The predominant religion in Mongolia is Tibetan Buddhism, which plays a significant role in the cultural and spiritual life of Mongolians. There are also minorities practicing Islam, particularly among the Kazakh population. Additionally, shamanistic traditions are present and have been part of the Mongolian cultural fabric for centuries.
