Brief description

History and development of concrete and production, standard methods of the physical and chemical properties testing of cement, water, coarse aggregates and fines aggregate of concrete, testing methods of concrete, calculation of concrete mixture, chemical agents, concepts of testing methods for fresh concrete and conventional concrete; nondestructive testing, knowledge of ready-mixed concrete; lightweight concrete, high strength and durability concrete, modern technology of concrete and fly-ash mixed in concrete and high performance concrete for specific purpose, highway materials, other Civil Engineering materials.

Lab Materials

Vicat Apparatus: a device used to determine the setting time and consistency of cement. It consists of a vertical plunger or needle that is released to penetrate a sample of cement paste placed in a mold. The depth of penetration helps assess the initial and final setting times, used to ensure if the cement meets construction standards.

Sieve Shaker/ Aggregate Shaker: a device used to sieve and separate materials, such as soil, aggregates, or powders, into different particle sizes. It uses a motor-driven mechanism to vibrate or shake a stack of sieves.

Mortar Mixer: a machine designed to prepare consistent and homogeneous mortar by mixing cement, sand, water, and other additives. It ensures efficient and uniform blending.
