The inception of the West Bengal Science & Technology Congress dates back to 1994, marked by its commitment to instilling a scientific mindset among young individuals and establishing a platform where researchers and scientists can exchange insights and research findings. The primary aim is to advance science and technology in the state. Over the years, it has evolved into an annual gathering, bringing together students, scientists, researchers, academicians, technocrats, and policymakers. This congregation serves as a forum for the dissemination of novel scientific ideas and innovations across various fields, all geared towards benefiting the community.
In anticipation of the 31st West Bengal State Science & Technology Congress, the 6th Regional Science & Technology Congress is being orchestrated across six regions in collaboration with esteemed universities and colleges. This initiative broadens the scope of participation for aspiring researchers and scholars. Under the auspices of Department of Science & Technology and Biotechnoloy, Govt. of West Bengal, the University of Kalyani is hosting the Regional Science & Technology Congress for Region 5, encompassing the districts of Howrah, Nadia, North 24 Parganas, and South 24 Parganas. Scheduled for January 3-4, 2024, this regional congress mirrors the structure of the state-level event, featuring technical sessions with the presentation of research papers by young researchers, memorial lectures, and invited talks addressing challenging issues and their scientific resolutions. Selected authors from the regional level will receive invitations to participate at the state level.
