Krimmel Orchestra-Region Statements of Understanding

About:

Region orchestra is one of the most prestigious events our students can participate in. The experience is an incredible opportunity for students to make music at a high level and bond with other students from across the region. These students will also be representing their middle school and their directors at all events.

For Krimmel events:

Orchestra is a co-curricular class, meaning that some rehearsals take place outside of class.  Sectionals in the first few months of the year will focus mainly on practicing for your region audition. These sectionals are grades!

For Region Events:

If your student is selected for the TMEA Region IX event, they must be present for all sanctioned rehearsal and concert dates in order to participate. Students who are late or miss dates will be excused from participating.

Tardiness, absence, or improper behavior from or during any of the above may result in loss of chair placement or dismissal from the Region Orchestra. Region IX Orchestra does not provide transportation or meals. Students who miss any part of the rehearsals will not be allowed to participate in the final concert. Understand that this includes reasons of illness, conflicts with sports, other music events, and all other extracurricular activities.
