In times of disaster, people are often the best resource. Your Challenge is to design a medical pack that can be used to deliver refrigerated medications in times of natural disasters. You will submit a labelled diagram of the pack, a map with the location of the event and a 500 mile radius circled, a thorough account of your design process (could be a mind map), and a 2 minute pitch for funding. You must use at least one primary source and your submission must include a bibliography with your sources cited.

Your medical pack should:

1. Meet the needs of emergency responders in at least 2 of the following: flooding, fire, chemical spills, other situation of your choice. You will get more points for the more situations in which your medical pack is used.

2. Hold at least 10 different medications

3. Keep medications cold for at least 96 hours without freezing them.

4. Be sturdy enough to prevent the medication containers from being damaged during delivery.

Please think about the following when you are designing your pack:

• Privacy laws related to medical issues
• FDA requirements
• Material Data Sheets (MDS)
• Mode of transportation
• Medicine reaction to elements such as: humidity, light, vibration, shock
• Security against theft
• Identification of patients in group setting
• Laws of transport across borders
• Cost analysis for your pitch
• Sporadic power outages
