Private Lessons are one-on-one instruction periods where a student meets with a master teacher (who plays the same instrument) one day a week. Lessons will take place the same time every week. Most lessons are 30 minutes in length, but more advanced students can take longer lessons if the teacher has the available time slots.
Every student has the potential to be truly GREAT! Private Lessons help students achieve beyond the classroom studies. If a student is struggling, they can help catch them up. If a student is performing beyond the class expectation, they can keep students motivated and progressing to more advanced levels.
Sign up for lessons at the link below and Mr. Burnett will send your student's information to the teacher for scheduling.
Master teachers who have been pre-screened by the Doerre Band Staff and who have passed a background check with KISD. These are “approved” teachers. They have been selected for their teaching and playing abilities. They are also genuinely motivated to see your child succeed and achieve greater skills on their instrument.
YES. For many of our Private Lesson teachers this is their main source of income. Fees are based on the teacher’s years of experience or degrees earned. All of the Doerre Private Lesson teachers have earned their Master’s Degree (or higher) and/or have multiple years of teaching experience. The cost is $30 per 30-minute lesson—this fee has been set by KISD not the individual teachers. Some students may be able to take longer lessons (depending on the teacher’s schedule). Students/Parents will pay their lesson teacher directly. You may choose to pay week-to-week or by the month. All of that can be worked out between you and the teacher.
Students will be expected to pay for any lessons they miss unless advance notification is made to the teacher.
Please call Mr. D or Mr. Burnett with questions about the program. We will be happy to assist you.
