Mini-Me Families—getting to know our new KJS students
Dear families,
We have a small job for you to do before your child returns to school in August. We would like you to make Mini-Me Family characters. Keep reading to find out more!
In the early years, children learn best through play, and what better way to celebrate their unique identities than by bringing their families into the classroom? By creating Mini-Me Family characters, your child will have the chance to share their home life, culture, and routines with their peers, helping us get to know them—and their wonderful families—even better.
Here’s how (see examples below):
Choose a clear, full-body photo of each family member.
Print, cut out, and laminate the photos (or use sticky tape for durability).
Attach each figure to a small block or brick for stability.
These mini-families will help your child explore identities, roles, routines, and storytelling while building confidence and social skills. Please send them to school on or before August 22nd so they can become part of our small-world play!
Thank you for supporting this fun and meaningful learning opportunity!
