We believe that every child at King James has the right to be happy and safe all of the time.
Our character value of 'respect' is central to this aim.
To support our pupils with feeling happy and safe so that they can get the most from their time in school, we offer 'Time To Talk' for any pupil that has something they wish to talk about. This might be a worry, something making them feel unhappy, or even something exciting that they are looking forward to!
Pupils can request Time To Talk with Mrs Linnane at our Pupil Hub which is in our library area. This is a calming place to be if children need some quiet time or time-out.
Our pupils' thoughts, feelings and opinions matter to us and our Pupil Hub provides lots of opportunities for pupils to have their voice heard. Teachers may also refer pupils for some Time To Talk too.
Mrs Linnane also offers 'Talk Around the Table' which are group sessions for pupils who are experiencing friendship issues. During the session, children will be supported to talk about their issues together whilst doing something fun like an art or craft activity.
