ISSAK Season 1 Wrap-Up: Goals, Grit and a Glimpse of Glory
The curtains finally fell on Season 1 of ISSAK on Saturday 15th November 2025, right here at KISU—and what a season it was! With secondary football and primary basketball taking centre stage, our pitches and courts saw everything from heart-stopping heroics to the occasional “let’s-never-speak-of-that-again” moment. In short: classic school sport.
As always, the season began with try-outs—our annual blend of excitement, nerves, and students trying to convince coaches that yes, they really can play every position. Some made the cut, some didn’t, but every audition showed courage. Once teams were named, our coaches rolled up their sleeves and got to work turning potential into performance.
Across the season we fielded a remarkable 10 teams:
Football: U13 Boys & Girls, U16 Boys & Girls, U20 Boys & Girls
Basketball: U11 Boys & Girls, U9 Boys & Girls, plus our spirited Development Team
And the results? Impressive. We had five teams qualify for their respective finals:
Basketball: U9 Girls
Football: U13 Boys, U16 Boys, U16 Girls, U20 Girls
Although the U9 Basketball Girls and both the U16 and U20 Girls’ Football teams fell short in their finals, they played with heart, resilience, and admirable sportsmanship.
But there were celebrations too!
🎉 U13 Boys clinched the championship in dramatic extra time against Seven Hills.
🎉 U16 Boys dominated ISU with a confident 3–0 win to lift the 2025 title.
To our parents, coaches, team managers, drivers, nurses, administrators, and the ever-enthusiastic cheering squads: thank you. Your support is often the spark that turns effort into excellence, and we felt that energy all season long.
Following the football finals, ISU also hosted the ISSAK Cross Country event—though, admittedly, that particular chapter didn’t unfold quite according to script. (Let’s just call it “a learning experience” and move swiftly on.)
With that, we shift gears into ISSAK Season 2, featuring secondary basketball and primary football. Try-outs are complete, the teams are selected, and we’re now eagerly waiting for fixtures to be released.
We look forward to welcoming you on the sidelines once again—ready to cheer, celebrate, and perhaps shout the occasional well-timed coaching tip from the stands.
Here’s to another exciting season ahead!
Mr. Robert Buga
