KISU Newsletter (544)

October 2023
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we turn the page on another bustling month at KISU, I am delighted to reach out through our October newsletter. This month, we've seen our students participate in a myriad of outdoor education trips. These expeditions are vital in extending the boundaries of learning beyond the classroom, offering our students unparalleled opportunities to grow in resilience and independence.
We continually strive for excellence in all areas of our operations at KISU. In line with this commitment, you may have noticed more frequent random vehicle checks. This measure is part of our ongoing review of security procedures. Your support is indispensable to us, and I kindly ask for your continued patience and cooperation during these necessary checks, including interior inspections when requested by our security team.
We are also reaping the benefits of our no smartphones policy. The school has become a more vibrant and interactive community, a change that many of our students have fervently endorsed. The absence of such devices has fostered a more socially engaging environment, encouraging face-to-face interactions and deeper connections. Please remind your children about this policy, and remember that any phones brought onto school premises will, unfortunately, have to be confiscated.
Let's not forget the importance of your voice in shaping the future of KISU. The 2023 Parent Survey is a crucial channel for your feedback. The school's leadership and I routinely delve into this data to guide our decision-making processes. The link to the survey can be found below. Your participation is vital; the more responses we receive, the more nuanced our understanding of your perspectives, enhancing our collective journey towards the school’s development.
Mark your calendars for a big occasion — the KISU 30th Anniversary and our Annual Christmas Fair on 25th November. This event promises to be a joyous celebration of our community's rich history and bright future.
In closing, I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support. We are always receptive to constructive feedback and cherish the collaborative spirit that helps KISU thrive.
Warm regards,
Lee Wilson
School Director.
