Reflecting upon Term 1
Term 1 has been marked by a series of transformative changes aimed at developing the growth of our school, enhancing academic excellence, and fostering a deeper sense of community. As I contemplate the successes of the term, I am filled with an immense sense of pride. Our students have developed excellent learning routines and have been fully focused on achieving their potential.
Throughout the term, our school has been alive with vibrant events, from the Poetry Slam and Arts Fest to the intellectually stimulating DP2 TOK exhibition. In addition, our DP students have worked collaboratively on fundraising initiatives, including various bake sales, a school party, and the infamous Mud Fest!
DP1 Parents/Guardians and Students:
I am delighted with the strong sense of community and work ethic displayed by our DP1 students. Their collaborative efforts have been truly commendable, with a shared commitment to each other's success. Since the start of the term, the students have also raised a significant amount of money for their Outdoor Education CAS project to Paraa Primary School.
Over the December break, DP1 students need to ensure they continue to update their CAS portfolios on ManageBac. Our students should also consider their future university/career ambitions. The further exposure and experience our students acquire in their chosen career paths will undoubtedly provide them with a competitive advantage when applying for further education in 2025.
DP2 Parents/Guardians and Students:
Most of our DP2 students have started their applications for further education pathways. This is a pivotal time of the year as universities/colleges across the world have already started to make offers.
If students are applying to study in the UK, the final deadline to submit their application is the 31st January. Other universities/colleges across the world have individual deadlines.
I would like ALL students to apply for their selected universities during the December break. This ensures that they will be fully focused for their upcoming mock exams in January.
Here is the DP2 mock exams timetable for January.
I would like to wish all of our students, parents and staff a restful, enjoyable and well-deserved December break.
