Dear Parents and Guardians,
2025 is coming to a close as has the first term of this academic year.
We have so much to look back on and feel grateful for. The students have been thriving in their studies as well as representing the school across the various ISSAK sports tournaments.
Trips have taken place domestically as well as internationally and the community has come together for so many occasions, whether it be for performances, fixtures, picnics or even for out recent Christmas Fair.
I look back with great fondness particularly with my interactions with your wonderful children at directors breakfast, in the canteen at lunch, passing them in school and particularly when they come to my office with a sample of what they have made in the Food Tech Room.
As we look forward to term 2 the students get ready for the ‘business end of the year.’ Mock exams will start and in the summer term many of our more senior students get ready for exams that may determine university places.
For clarification, term 2 starts on 14th January, we then take a short break for the upcoming elections and the term continues from the 19th January.
I hope you have a well deserved and restful holiday and I look forward to seeing you all back here at KISU in the New Year.
Regards,
Michael Starkie

Buddy Reading Initiative
Our Primary Section has been buzzing with excitement thanks to the wonderful success of our Buddy Reading initiative! Led by the Primary Student Council, this program has brought classes together to share stories, build friendships, and celebrate a love of reading. Older and younger students have enjoyed reading side by side, getting to know one another, supporting each other’s learning, and growing in confidence. It has been heart-warming to see students connect across year groups, model positive reading habits, and share their enthusiasm for books. This initiative has truly strengthened our sense of community and shown how powerful reading can be when it is shared.
