SCHOOL DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
Dear KISU Community,
This is my first newsletter as Interim School Director, and I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all parents, guardians and students for the warm welcome during this transition. It has been a busy start to Term 3, with a wide range of events, activities and learning experiences taking place. Highlights have included the World Scholars competition, KISU International Day, the IB Visual Arts Exhibition, and Book Week.
During the Easter break, several of our Secondary students attended the UGMUN conference at ISU. You can read more about this in the ‘Secondary’ section of the newsletter. As you may recall, we hosted KISUMUN last year. Moving forward, this will run on a biennial basis, so we look forward to its return in the next academic year.
Term 3 also marks the beginning of study leave for our Year 11 and DP2 students. As I write this piece, our DP2 students are half way through their first exam - Physics Paper 1A & 1B. This period can be both demanding and stressful, so I encourage parents and guardians to support their children by ensuring they have a quiet space to revise at home and check in regularly. At the same time, regular study breaks are essential. Whether that’s a short walk in your neighbouring area or time out of the house to help maintain a healthy balance.
Last week, we celebrated Book Week as a whole school, and it was our most successful yet! Please do take a look at the ‘Whole School’ section to see more about the engaging activities and the fantastic costumes inspired by book characters.
Upcoming events:
Saturday 9th May (10:30 - 2:30pm) - Art Jam (see ‘Whole School’ section for details)
Friday 15th May: Battle of the Bands
Thursday 21st May: KG Production
Saturday 23rd May: DP2 Prom
Friday 29th May: DP2 Graduation

Best wishes,
Mr Daniel Grimshawe
