January has been a busy and inspiring month at KISU, starting with a visit from Alistair Goold of Restorative 360. His parent workshop was exceptionally well attended, and the two-day in-depth workshop with staff truly challenged us to reflect on how restorative practices shape an inclusive school environment. The sessions provided valuable insights and practical strategies that we are eager to implement as we continue to foster a positive and supportive school culture.
We ended the month on a high note with our Chinese New Year celebrations. It was wonderful to see our Chinese students and parents come together to lead a range of engaging activities, including calligraphy workshops, traditional cooking sessions, and, of course, our much-anticipated whole school assembly on Friday 24th January. The vibrant performances and decorations brought a festive atmosphere to KISU, and we are grateful to everyone who contributed to making the celebrations such a success. See the 'Special' article for a much more detailed account of the celebrations.
As we move into the term, we kindly remind parents of the importance of supporting our no phone policy to help maintain a focused learning environment. Additionally, we ask for your support in ensuring that students come to school in their full and proper uniform, which helps to promote a sense of pride and unity within our school community.
Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to making KISU a great place to learn and grow.
