DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
Welcome back to Term 2! It has been a real pleasure welcoming students and staff back onto campus and feeling the renewed energy after the December and January break. The school is already buzzing again, and it has been lovely to see students settling quickly back into routines, reconnecting with friends, and engaging so positively with learning.
Although Term 2 is relatively short, it is certainly a busy and exciting one. We have a full calendar ahead, including a range of international trips that will provide valuable learning beyond the classroom, as well as student-led parent–teacher conferences. These conferences are a wonderful opportunity for students to reflect on their progress, take ownership of their learning, and share their next steps with parents and teachers.
This term is also a significant one for our older students. Those preparing for IGCSE and IBDP examinations will be sitting their mock exams in the coming weeks. These assessments are an important milestone and help students identify strengths and areas for further focus ahead of the final exams in the summer. There is a great deal of hard work ahead, and we are proud of the commitment and resilience our students continue to show. We wish them every success and encourage them to make full use of the support available from their teachers.
Sport will once again play a key role in school life this term. We are looking forward to many ISSAK fixtures, with our Primary students competing in football and our Secondary students taking to the court for basketball. These events are always a highlight, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We look forward to a productive, positive, and memorable term ahead.
Warm regards,
Michael Starkie

Nurturing Calm and Connection
Happy New Year All!!
The recent national elections and the extension of the school opening date may have left some of us feeling a little uneasy. We noticed many students and adults sharing their thoughts and questions in small group conversations throughout the week, this is natural and shows the importance of talking about how we feel.
To support wellbeing at home and in school, try focusing on what is within your control: keep routines, take breaks from stressful news, stay connected with loved ones, and practice simple grounding activities like slow breathing or movement. Encourage open, calm conversations, it helps children feel heard and safe.
We are also excited to share two upcoming workshops in February:
Staff Workshop: Building Psychological Safety
Parent Workshop: Supporting Children’s Emotional Wellbeing at Home
The counseling office is always here to listen, guide, and support our school community through times of change. You are always welcome.
