After you accept your position, you will receive an email with instructions for logging in to Kronos/UKG to complete all required tasks in your Kronos/UKG New Hire Checklist.
NOTE: Updated profile information that you add will need to be reviewed and approved by HR once you complete it on your end. Once approved, it will be marked as completed with a green checkmark, and you will then have access to approve your CA DE-4 withholding form afterwards.
In order to be employed by KIPP SoCal, you must complete (and pass) a mandatory fingerprint scan and background check called "Live Scan" before you onboard. The live scan must only be completed in the state of California.

After the office has completed your Live Scan, request that they make you a copy of the form for your personnel records.
The OCA Number on the form should be left blank
Live Scan fees on average should not be more than $35
Out-of-state new hires can make personal arrangements to travel to Los Angeles/California to complete their LiveScan, look for housing, etc. within 60 days before start date. Otherwise, they must relocate to CA no later than 2 weeks before their start date to complete LiveScan.
Please be sure to use the below form as it is the most updated version. Do not change the Authorized Applicant Type and ensure the Billing Number is reflected as 147353. Any changes to these fields may cause a delay in results and therefore a delay in your start date.
You must complete 2 Live Scans for KIPP SoCal, one for HR and one for CTC (California's educator agency). Click here for the CTC Live Scan form. Print and bring to a Live Scan Location. Note: you may go to any Live Scan location in any zip code in California.
You may complete both the CTC and HR Live Scan concurrently.
Keep your receipts; you’ll be reimbursed.

All potential KIPP SoCal teachers MUST be cleared by the Credentialing Team before scheduling an onboarding appointment with the HR Team.
Per California Education Code Section 49406, all staff of KIPP SoCal working in our schools must have their TB clearance results on file. Upon new employment, the TB assessment/test results must be within 60 days prior to your start date. They are then valid for 4 years. If you do not have a recent TB clearance, PLEASE SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR ASAP.

You can use the calculator below to give you the earliest date that your TB can be read to be in compliance. It is extremely important that the TB assessment/test results must be within 60 days prior to your start date. Failure to have this completed within the 60 days, will delay your start date.
For example: If your start date is July 20th 2023, place that date in the field below and click on "Calculate Earliest Read Date." It will calculate the earliest date you can get your TB assessment/test result which is May 20th, 2023.
You will need to provide KIPP SoCal with proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. Please see the I-9 acceptable documents below for the various forms of acceptable identification. You must bring the original document of the required, unexpired identification with you to your Onboarding Appointment.

Starting on your first day of hire, you will be able to enroll in your benefits. You have 30 calendar days from your date of hire to sign up for your benefits though Kronos Benefits Center powered by Plansource. If you do not enroll in this 30-day window, you will have to wait until the annual enrollment period (held in the fall) to enroll.
Newly hired staff have 60 days from their start date to submit Live Scan and TB receipts for reimbursement to the Finance Department at expenses@kippsocal.org. All reimbursements require a full detailed receipt that evidences proof of payment; summary receipts will not be accepted. Credit card receipts will not be accepted in lieu of itemized vendor receipts. Please follow up with the policy link below on how to submit these for reimbursement once you have officially started.

For those that are required to complete a CTC/Credentialing Live Scan, you need to keep your receipts for reimbursement.
