Welcome to KACP KIPPsters and Families!
After Labor Day, all KIPPsters are expected to wear their uniform. We expect all of our students to bring their school supplies and yellow homework folder!
Don't be nervous! It's going to be an amazing week!!! :)
IAs are happening this week! 📚
Near the end of each quarter, we administer Interim Assessments (IAs) to all of our KIPPsters to measure their growth at school. From Monday, September 28th, through Friday, October 2nd, our KIPPsters will take their Q1 tests. Schedule as follows:
Monday: ELA Part I
Tuesday: ELA Part II
Wednesday: Math
Thursday: Science
Friday: Social Studies
Please make sure your KIPPster is present and on time every day. We expect all of them to do great!
Chromebooks are here! 💻
Starting Monday, 8/17, our KIPPsters were assigned a Chromebook for their daily use. Please read the computer expectations provided in the yellow folder during Orientation Day.
If you signed it during Open House, we'll have it in our system.
If you didn't sign the handbook by 8/28, your KIPPster won't be able to use their Chromebook. Make sure to complete the form as soon as possible.
As a friendly reminder, each KIPPster is responsible for their assigned computer. If they damage it or break it, you might have to pay a fee starting at $100 and up to $175. Remind your KIPPster to take care of the technology!
SLA Cafeteria Menu! 🍞🍴🍟
Please check the SLA website to review the daily menu we're serving in the cafeteria! Parents are welcome to bring lunch for their KIPPsters; however, deliveries are not allowed and will be sent back.
Occupational Surveys are still needed!
Under TN State Law, we must request an occupational survey for every KIPPster every year. We're currently at 78%, but we want to be at 100%! If we haven't received your copy, we'll be contacting you soon! If you want to fill one out, you can find a blank form here.
Hispanic Heritage Month 🌺💃🏻
National Hispanic Heritage Month 2026 takes place from Tuesday, September 15, through Thursday, October 15, honoring the histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans
At KACP, we'll host several activities where our KIPPsters can take part in the celebration and showcase the diverse cultures that make up our school.
Arts Updates 🎼🎭
Performance Choir
Choir practices will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays. Students cannot stay until their information form is signed and submitted to Mr. Dollaway.
Pick-up is at 5:30 pm. Please pick them up promptly!
Drama Club
Theater practices will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students cannot stay until their information form is signed and submitted to Mrs. Koeberl.
Pick-up is at 6:00 pm. Please pick them up promptly!
Lion King Jr 🦁
Our cast has been selected! We invite all KIPPsters who made the cut and their parents to a meeting on Tuesday, where we'll discuss the play's logistics. Check your email for details!

Practices are happening this week. Make sure your KIPPster brings an extra change of clothes, running shoes, and a water bottle!

Our Lions are Sectional Runners-Up and State Qualifiers! Congratulations to our athletes!
Basketball
Tryouts are happening this week! If your KIPPster is interested (6th through 8th grade), they will have to stay after school to try out.

Arrival & Dismissal
Our arrival and dismissal process is changing for 26-27 school year!
Arrival
Doors open at 7:40am. Students must remain in their cars until KACP staff member comes to open the doors.
The car rider line will flow through the front of the school this year near the cafeteria. The bus lane will be located at the back of the building. Both cars and buses will exit through the neighborhood (Sandpiper Ln), thefore no traffic is permitted to enter KACP through the neighborhood from 7:40 - 8:00am.
Students may stop by the cafeteria to receive grab 'n go breakfast and eat in homeroom. They are considered tardy if they are not seated in their homeroom after 8:00am.
Dismissal
Our Operations team begins preparing for dismissal at 2:30pm. Please call the front office and/or pick up your KIPPster for early dismissal prior to 2:30pm daily.
Any dismissal changes must be made through the front office. Please email kacp@kippnashville.org or call 629-208-7525.
Student IDs: When using the car rider line, ensure you have the student ID number displayed. A paper copy or screen shot will work! If you do not have the student ID, you will be asked to park and enter the front office to provide identification.
Our car rider line will loop through our staff parking lot and wrap around in front of the cafeteria. The buses will load at the back of the school. All veicles will exit through the neighborhood (Sandpiper Ln). No traffic is permitted to enter KACP through the neighborhood from 3:15 - 3:45pm.

Please review the 25-26 KIPP Nashville Attendance Policy from Chief of Schools, Tiffany Russ! Students who miss more than 15 days will be retained. Please ensure your student is present daily from 8:00am - 3:30pm.
The daily goal is 97%!
