Ms. Raven Thompson is the new School Counselor joining us at KACP.  Ms. Thompson received both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.  Her specialization lies within children and families. Ms. Thompson’s previous experience is in Juvenile Court, Child Welfare, and Higher Education. Now, she is super excited for this new chapter at KACP Middle. Ms. Thompson is committed to helping students reach their full academic and social emotional potential. Her philosophy is solution-focused, social and emotional development.  Ms. Thompson is dedicated to making a positive impact on our KIPPsters’ lives and we are looking forward to an amazing school year together!

Ms. Diana Handal works as a school-based therapist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She will be supporting us by providing intensive, individualized, and targeted mental health services to some of the students here at KACP. She is excited to start working with the students, families, and staff at KACP Middle and KACP Elementary! Ms. Diana was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and she has lived in Nashville for eight years. Before becoming a counselor, Ms. Diana worked as an exceptional ed teacher in Nashville and in Honduras. Ms. Diana will be on campus M-F, and you can find her in room 320B or reach her at diana.handal@vumc.org.
