For the start project we had many ups and downs! We found carrying out the interviews and making the video quite fun and enjoyable along with the Padlet and carrying out the test. There wasn't many parts we didn't enjoy actually but some people found creating ideas hard and making the website was a lot of work but altogether it was really enjoyable. I think the START project was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone.
While we were doing our testing and research, we used a different selection of devices and apps. Recently at school we have acquired iPads and this was a great chance to get to use all of the different apps. We needed to find out how to use Garage Band to record the interviews we did with the different teachers and pupils. We also used the iPad to record our movie.
We also had to use the laptops a lot, both for brainstorming ideas and for making this website. Firstly we learned how to use Padlet on the internet. It is a website that is good for classes doing brainstorms together so you can see everyone's ideas. Then we also learned how to make our own website and how to post things on it. We used Google Sites to build the website through GSuite for Education as it allowed us all to work on different pages at the same time, this meant that every pupil in our class was able to contribute to our project.
We used Google Drive to share documents while we were researching and writing up our information for the website, we also used it to upload the pictures we took so that we could embed them on the website. We used Google Sheets to collate our data and create bar charts to represent it.
We certainly had a blast while making this project. We haven't done anything like this before, so it was all new! Lots of people worked hard on this website. Many people enjoyed interviewing teachers and students, making the video for our introduction, contributing to the padlet and as I said, making this website!
While doing this project we learned many different things including all about clinical trial, how to randomly divide people, how to set up our own website, how to work together as a team and how to present our results professionally.
