Microsoft Dreamspace Ambassadors
Dreamspace Ambassadors attending training in Minecraft Hour of Code with Microsoft Ireland.
Children in 6th Class used coding blocks to create robots using sensors. The robots were programmed to move and change colour.
The children in infants explored Bee-Bots as an introduction to coding and computational thinking. The small robot can remember a sequence of up to 40 commands, directing it to move forwards and backwards in 15 cm increments, and to turn 90 degrees left and right. The children created sequences of code using prompt cards and then input these into the Beebot using the buttons. Â
6th class creating mazes for the Beebots, calculating distance Beebot travels in order to create the maze. Using coding to move the Beebot.Â
Corrib Kids Coding came to visit 6th Class. They used Microsoft Make Code Arcade to learn about aspects of video game design and how basic coding principles work together to enable them to create a game.Â
Maths Week Ireland Advent Calendar!
6th Class taking part in the Maths Week Ireland Advent Calendar - working on Bee Bots and coding.Â
First and Second Class were learning to code using the Kodable app. It was great fun!
Children took part in an "Hour of Code".
We had great fun coding with Dash robots in the hall. We learned to move them and then we coded them to collect items on a grid!

20230120_130601.mp4Children followed instructions on the ipads to build various items. They could then code them to move! It was great fun!
We had teachers visiting our school from France, Germany, Czech Republic and Bulgaria. We showed them all of the technology we use in our classrooms, and what we have learned this year across the school.
