We had an expert visit from the Explorers Education Programme in Galway's Atlantaquarium. He directed us on how to dissect a squid and we got to do this ourselves. We learned about this and other fish of the sea and the biodiversity within. We enjoyed a great talk and lively discussion on marine life, the wonderful abundance of uses of the sea and water in the world and how we must protect the marine life and our part as citizens.
Children in Sixth class extracted DNA from a slice of banana. They conducted the experiment through a zoom session with scientists from the Cell Explorers Programme in University of Galway.
